Overview

When Ed Neilson’s entire family is brutally murdered, his desperate plea for help draws retired CIA operative Duke Smith back into the dangerous world he left behind. Initially refusing to get involved, Smith only agrees to investigate after Neilson himself falls victim to a deadly attack. Teaming up with his former associate Wyatt Spain, Smith begins an investigation that soon reveals layers of intrigue and dangerous entanglements, from secret government agents to shadowy freedom fighters known as the Brown Hats. With a host of suspicious characters and violent threats lurking at every corner, Smith’s quest for justice plunges him into a tense struggle where trust is scarce and survival is never guaranteed.
