Programmer's Pick

This is the Texas crime spree you never knew you needed: dynamite, denim, and defiant women making bank robbing look like a wild road trip. Claudia Jennings and Jocelyn Jones light up the screen—sometimes literally—with enough attitude (and explosives) to blast genre conventions wide open.

Overview

Candy Morgan, fresh from busting out of prison, makes her explosive mark on a small Texas bank—dynamite in hand and an attitude to match. She finds an unlikely partner in Ellie-Jo Turner, an ex-bank teller recently fired for her “total lack of character.” Together, these two form a modern-day “Bonnie and Bonnie,” embarking on a rollicking crime spree across Texas, punctuated by car chases, bank heists, and a lot of dynamite. Their partnership expands when they cross paths with Slim, a convenience store robber turned hostage-turned-ally, forming a misfit trio on the run. This satirical caper takes full advantage of its hixploitation roots and 1970s sensibilities, mixing action, comedy, and a hefty dose of nudity.
