Overview

Lieutenant Barney Nolan, once a respected detective with sixteen years on the force, has turned corrupt and bitter. Frustrated with his life, Nolan makes a fateful choice when he shoots a bookmaker in a back alley and steals $25,000, then tries to pass the killing off as justified. While his friend, Sergeant Mark Brewster, and Captain Gunnarson accept his story, rumors swirl about Nolan’s illicit activities. Reporter Cabot begins to suspect Nolan’s involvement, and the pressure mounts as Nolan attempts to start a new life with his girlfriend, Patty. But Nolan’s desperate actions spark a chain of consequences, and a silent witness threatens to unravel his carefully staged deception.
