Quick Answer

What is Percy's Progress about?

Percy's Progress is a 1974 British comedy film directed by Ralph Thomas about a man with the world's first penis transplant who becomes humanity's last hope after a chemical renders all other men impotent.

Programmer's Pick

Only in 1970s Britain could the fate of mankind rest on a man with a famous appendage and a penchant for trouble. Percy’s Progress pushes the sex comedy envelope with a headline-grabbing premise and a parade of British character actors who seem to be having almost as much fun as Percy himself.

Overview

Percy's Progress sets its sights on England's most notorious transplant recipient: Percy, the man famed for his surgical enhancement and his escapades with married women. When a bizarre accident contaminates the world's water supply, every man except Percy suddenly finds himself rendered impotent. Thanks to a year of hiding out at sea and subsisting on champagne, Percy alone escapes the chemical's effects. As he returns to shore, his unique abilities attract the attention of both the press and the British government, who see their only chance at repopulation in this infamous playboy. This raucous British sex comedy doesn't shy away from cheeky setups and satirical jabs.
