Overview

Set in 1930s New York, Murder, Inc. tracks the formation and bloody reign of an organized crime syndicate led by the fearsome Lepke Buchalter. Two hit men from Brooklyn, Abe Reles and Bug Workman, are recruited to do the mob’s dirty work—reminding everyone in their orbit that loyalty to the syndicate is enforced at the point of a knife. When struggling singer Joey Collins is coerced into helping them with a hit, he and his wife Eadie find themselves entangled in a world where betrayal is met with lethal consequences. The film paints a gritty portrait of organized crime’s reach into ordinary lives, set against a backdrop of jazz clubs, smoky nightclubs, and backroom deals.
