Programmer's Pick

Howard Hawks trades six-shooters for Shelby Cobras, delivering a pedal-to-the-metal look at love, betrayal, and male ego behind the wheel. Come for the roaring engines, stay for the messy entanglements and pit-lane power plays.

Overview

Red Line 7000 plunges into the fast-paced world of stock car racing, where adrenaline on the track is matched only by the turbulence off it. The story follows the Pat Kazarian racing team as they cope with loss and shifting alliances after a fatal crash at Daytona. New driver Ned Arp steps into the mix, quickly stirring things up with romantic ambitions towards Julie, the team owner's sister. Meanwhile, the arrival of French competitor Dan McCall and his girlfriend Gabrielle adds extra fuel to the team's simmering rivalries. As passions and egos clash, the film explores how ambition, jealousy, and desire can be as perilous as the sport itself.
