Programmer's Pick

Hammer’s horror at its most decadent: Terence Fisher delivers Baphomet, swirling fog, and Christopher Lee as a truly heroic occultist. If pentagrams, goat demons, and English butlers in mortal peril sound like your flavor, this one’s for you.

Overview

Set in 1929 London and the south of England, The Devil Rides Out follows the urbane Nicholas, Duc de Richleau, as he investigates his protegé Simon’s suspicious behavior and uncovers ties to a secretive occult group. With the help of his friend Rex Van Ryn, de Richleau intervenes just as Simon and fellow initiate Tanith are about to be inducted into a coven of devil worshippers. Their daring rescue disrupts a chilling May Day ceremony where the Devil, in the form of the Goat of Mendes, makes an ominous appearance. Pursued by the cult and its psychic leader Mocata, the group seeks sanctuary at the countryside home of de Richleau’s family, but the occult dangers are far from over.
