Overview

A mysterious species of gelatinous alien creatures arrives on Earth, settling in San Francisco by inhabiting plant life and manifesting as fragrant pink-flowered pods. When Elizabeth Driscoll, a scientist at the city’s Health Department, brings one of the flowers home, her boyfriend’s sudden, chilling personality shift sets off alarm bells. Seeking answers, Elizabeth turns to her colleague Matthew Bennell and his psychiatrist friend David Kibner. But as more residents begin to act strangely, and odd occurrences multiply, paranoia grips the city. With an urban 1970s backdrop and a slow-burn sense of unease, this film explores the creeping horror of an unseen invasion that threatens to replace humanity itself.
