Overview

Los Angeles is gripped by terror as a series of grisly murders unsettle the city. The culprit is not a typical serial killer but a Syngenor—a bio-engineered mutant that lurks in the city's labyrinthine sewer system, emerging only at night to hunt for human spinal fluid. The police, lacking witnesses or physical evidence, find themselves mocked by the media and left with only the killer’s inhuman strength as a clue. Former detective Ted Londergan, now a novelist, is reluctantly drawn back into the case by his old partner, Detective Lou Capell, even as he pursues a romance with Jennifer Stanton. The film weaves horror, science fiction, and police procedural into a grim urban nightmare.
