Overview

In gritty 1970s Harlem, a high-stakes robbery at a Mafia-run count house leaves both mobsters and police dead. Ex-con Jim Harris and his accomplices make off with $300,000, setting off a powder keg of violence between rival criminal factions and the NYPD. With the Italian mob desperate to reclaim their territory and the local black gangsters looking to save face, the streets become a battleground. Leading the investigation are Captain Frank Mattelli, a seasoned but morally compromised cop, and Lieutenant William Pope, whose authority is questioned at every turn. As the robbers flee through a maze of distrust, bribery, and escalating brutality, Harlem itself becomes a character—tense, lawless, and unforgiving.
