Overview

In the thick of Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans, Ben and his best friend Marcus look for a change of pace with a haunted swamp tour. Their search leads them to Shawn, an over-the-top, inexperienced tour guide who gathers an eclectic group, including two feuding actresses, a sleazy filmmaker, and a reserved woman named Marybeth. As their boat enters the murky Louisiana swamps, things spiral from awkward to ominous, especially when warnings are ignored and things begin to go horribly wrong. Blending comedy and horror, Hatchet sets up an atmosphere where party escapism collides with old local legends, and a night of misadventure takes a dark, blood-spattered turn.
