Quick Answer

What is Blood Nasty about?

Blood Nasty is a 1989 American comedy-horror film directed by Robert Strauss and Richard Gabai about a man resurrected and possessed by a serial killer's spirit, causing chaos within his dysfunctional family.

Programmer's Pick

Blood Nasty stuffs murder, resurrection, and life insurance scams into a single, delightfully trashy package. With a possessed loser, a scheming trailer-park family, and Linnea Quigley as an unlikely ally, it’s a B-movie that knows exactly where its bread (and corpses) are buttered.

Overview

Roy Flowers is murdered by jewel thieves and buried far from home, only to return from the grave thanks to the vengeful spirit of a serial killer named Blade. His resurrection is less a family reunion and more an awkward homecoming, as his dysfunctional family debates whether to cash in on his life insurance or deal with his unsettling new behavior. As Roy, now possessed by Blade, stirs up trouble and draws unwanted attention—including his stripper girlfriend Wanda Dance—the Flowers family scrambles to keep his undead state a secret from their landlord. Blood Nasty blends horror and dark comedy, setting its bizarre supernatural antics in a suburban neighborhood teeming with oddballs and ill intent.
