Overview

West Coast Mafia muscle Charlie Adamo wants a cut of the glitzy new Royal Casino-Hotel in Las Vegas, but the manager refuses to give in. To force the issue, Adamo arranges for notorious bank robber Hank McCain to be released from San Quentin, with McCain’s son Jack presenting him a tempting plan: rob the casino instead. As McCain starts scoping out the Royal’s vulnerabilities and takes up with the lively Irene, he suspects his son may be in over his head—and that unseen string-pullers are lurking behind the scenes. Set amidst smoky club backrooms, Vegas showlights, and shadowy mob politics, this is a hard-boiled crime tale where trust is a rare commodity and ambition runs dangerous.
