A corpse in the trunk, a house of kink, and a henpecked killer in over his head.
A THOUSAND PLEASURES
Trapped by the fury of each other's white-hot emotions!
Henpecked misogynist Richard Davis murders his shrewish wife and goes out to dispose of her corpse. However, things go awry for Richard after he's abducted by a pair of insane lesbians who take him to their house where they keep a grown woman called Baby in a crib.
A Thousand Pleasures is a 1968 American horror-thriller film directed by Michael Findlay about a misogynist who murders his wife, only to be abducted by two lesbian hitchhikers and taken to a bizarre house where he encounters a cast of eccentric characters.
Synopsis
Over the next hour or so, Davis is teased, pleased and given drugged tea by the lesbians, who want him to give them a child and they send Anna -- a rather hefty woman whom Davis calls "Booberella" -- to convince him. Davis watches an orgy in which Maggie breast-feeds Baby while being whipped. When he tries to escape, Davis is beaten with an andiron and has his feet burned in the fireplace by the girls' servant, Bruno.
Eventually, Davis manages to crawl upstairs and murder Baby, Maggie, and Jackie. Anna smothers him to death with her pendulous breasts, then goes to the beach and prevents the grieving Belle from killing herself. The two women embrace lovingly as the film ends. It's less than an hour long, and scored with inappropriate classical music. Findlay's growing legion of cult fans will be amused, while mainstream viewers will be dumbfounded.
Why Cult
Follow Richard Davis as he drives around with his wife's corpse in the trunk, only for his getaway to take a wild detour with two unpredictable hitchhikers.
The film puts a twisted spin on the genre with lesbian kidnappers, flipping the script on typical exploitation fare of the era.
Meet Belle and the diaper-clad Baby, whose presence turns the film's third act into a parade of outrageous and unsettling set pieces.
Director Michael Findlay, along with Roberta Findlay in the cast, delivers a film as twisted as their later cult output.
