Overview

When Emperor Ming the Merciless grows tired of his own planet, he casually decides to destroy Earth by triggering a series of catastrophic natural disasters. Meanwhile, on Earth, New York Jets quarterback Flash Gordon and travel agent Dale Arden find themselves thrown together when their plane is struck by a meteorite. Their emergency landing leads them straight to Dr. Hans Zarkov, a scientist convinced that alien forces are behind the chaos. Zarkov, desperate to investigate, tricks Flash and Dale into boarding his homemade spacecraft. Hurtling into space, the unlikely trio embarks on a perilous journey to the mysterious planet Mongo, where the fate of Earth hangs in the balance.
