Overview

Mark, a blind teenage boy plagued by unsettling visions, shares a tense home with his aloof sister Christine and their devout grandmother. After the grandmother’s accidental death, Mark and Christine are forced to start anew in a dilapidated Venetian hotel owned by ailing relatives. As tragedy continues to strike, Christine takes over the hotel, transforming it into a thriving brothel while her demeanor grows increasingly cruel. Mark is left isolated and fearful, especially when Christine mysteriously becomes pregnant despite claiming to be a virgin. Against the atmospheric backdrop of Venice, the siblings’ precarious life takes on a sinister dimension, with Mark haunted by premonitions that hint at an impending, supernatural catastrophe.
